How to Test my hotspot is working or not?
« on: February 18, 2009, 08:08:27 am »
I have created account in worldspot.net as below :
Chillispot                                   Enable
Separate Wifi from the LAN Bridge   Enable
Primary Radius Server IP/DNS           radius.worldspot.net
Backup Radius Server IP/DNS           radius2.worldspot.net
DNS IP                                   <your DNS: X.X.X.X>
Redirect URL                           https://secure.worldspot.net/wk/Uam
Shared Key                                   HtAymvzVQV
DHCP Interface                           WLAN
Radius NAS ID                           hotspotbebas
UAM Secret                                   fLfeBLk9eH
UAM Any DNS                           0
UAM Allowed                           www.paypal.com,www.paypalobjects.com,paypal.112.2o7.net
<A list of authorized websites everybody can access without connecting>
MACauth                                   Disable (or Enable: see below)
Additional Chillispot Options           domain key.worldspot.net
I have created access profiles too.

Does anybody know how to test that my account is working  ???
Because i had tried with my dd-wrt router v24Sp2 is always failed to connect.

Have you setup dd-wrt as explained in the documentation?

What do you mean by failed?
do you have access to the internet?
Do you have an IP address?
Which one is it?

Note that DD-WRT is no longer recommended and will soon be unsupported. You should use CoovaAP instead.

One more thing, i can ping worldspot radius server and DNS, but still failed to connect and no connection history in my worldspot hotspot account  :'(

If you dont mind, can you test my account above with you device/router to make sure its work well  ;D

You may check the DNS ip you entered in chillispot. Try the opendns ip address 208.67.220.220
You may also check that you have a single ssid, or use the first ssid.
It is possible that dd-wrt's chillispot doesn't work on atheros based hardware. I know it doesn't work on foneras.

Coova is based on openwrt whiterussian, which is quite old.

What is your atheros based hardware?
If it is a fonera, I strongly recommend ROBIN firmware.
Otherwise, openwrt kamikaze may do the job, but hotspot setup might need some skills.

I have tried with both 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222

In my case I run a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 which originally came with the latest V24 BETA SP2 of DDWRT on it.
Chilispot didn't work. Downgraded to regular V24 SP1 and still refused to work.
Downgraded to v23 SP2 and voila it works like a charm.

Hope this helps.

Don't paste this in to UAM allowed <A list of authorized websites everybody can access without connecting> and it should work. Well thats what I found. It din't like it. V24 DD-WRT
