Log in problems
« on: March 10, 2010, 11:11:00 am »
Hi I am just experimenting with worldspot to provide free internet access to some holiday homes. I have configured a Linksys WRT54GL with DDWRT firmware and all seems to work except sometimes I have a strange problem where I cannot log in a user to the internet, or at least I get a message on the welcome page saying it cannot log me in but after clicking the connect button again it works ok. This could be a little confusing for customers, any help would be great.

Thanks

Paul

Hi

This is due to the authentication challenge mechanism of the hotspot controller.
The hotspot gives a challenge to which the user must respond  (with his password) in a limited time.
If the users takes too much time, the challenge expires, and gives an error.
Unfortunately, there is no specific message saying that the challenge has expired.
I will try to have a workaround for this, by detecting that a new challenge has been provided.
