Chillispot on my Linksys WRT54GL DD-WRT: help
« on: April 24, 2010, 01:11:05 am »
Hi friends, sorry for my question.
I'm using DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) std-nokaid (SVN revision 13064) and I'm trying to configure worldspot.net
On Service->Hotspot->Chillispot when I have to select the DHCP Interface I haven't the WLAN but only LAN, eth0, eth1, etherip0 and vlan0.
What is wrong in my configuration?
I'm trying to set the "Configuration C: Two Networks, WiFi separated from LAN" on the link
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Chillispot#Chillispot_setup:_detailed_options

Someone can help me?

Best Regards

Luca

The wiki is outdated
On the WRT54GL, the wifi should be eth1.
If you want WDS, or extend your hotspot with other access points, choose the LAN bridge, and disable "separate wifi from LAN", this will activate the hotspot on both WIFI and LAN ports. But don't forget to configure  access to your web interface from the WAN interface.

Hey, that wiki should be correct. I think i did one of the last major updates on it; it did need an overhaul for clarity.

A lot of people had added this and that to it so the structure was  like a boarded up shack before the last major update.

I'll go check that out when I have time.

edit okay it should be fixed. check it out and let me know.

I've had a look and made some modifications.

I think you made a mistake:
When you enable "separate wifi from lan" you should not select "LAN" in the  chillispot dhcp interface. I think that "LAN" is the bridge between wifi and the LAN ports.
Instead, in v24, you must choose the wifi interface whose name depends on the hardware. On the wrt54gl, it should be "eth1"

I don't have any dd-wrt setup to test.
If you could check this, it would be nice.
