AUTH_OK without Start
« on: August 02, 2010, 03:54:50 pm »
Hi,
I am trying to setup a worldspot connection for the first time and i am running into what appears to be a radius problem.  I am getting the AUTH_OK without Start  and when i try to connect the system says the user and pass are ok but it takes to long (ten secounds) and then says it cant connect.

My log shows entries like this

Lagonave t:trial AUTH_OK trial  Not started 2010-07-31 21:53:25   not stopped

Also i seem to have no problem accessing the website and i can ping radius.worldspot.net with about 741ms and radius2.worldspot.net at730 to 1029ms

I am using a Starband VSAT connection but as far as I know they do not filter UDP connections and I know others who have operated captive portals using radius over thier service with no problems

Any suggestions would be much appriciated.

Can you send me the python script so that i can test my radius request.

Thanks

Hello
Sorry for the late response

This probably means that worldspot servers receive the authentication request, but you don't receive the response.
Have you tried at different times of day?
I have to check the python script I have, and its dependency on the radius library.

I know there have been several clients running over a satellite connection without any problem.

I have tried it at all different times of the day with no luck.  I was able to get a captive portal system working with hxxxxxxxxm.com but their plans and voucher system will not work for what I need.   However they are all the only system that I could get to work and I have tried every captive portal system I could find using both coova and dd-wrt on two different wrt54-gls and they all have similar problems to whats happing on worldspot.  Unfortunately as of this morning  my last wrt54gl became completely unresponsive after a failed flash from openwrt back to dd-wrt.  It was jst a matter of time since I have probably flashed both these things 100 times each trying out different setups.  I think its finally time for me to call it quits.

Thanks anyways,

very strange.

Did you use their firmware?
or only configured coova-chilli to make it work?

Have you tried the tftp method to restore your router?
