Are tickets working properly?
« on: September 26, 2006, 10:42:18 am »
Hi there,

I only ask because I seem to be able to use an 'unlimited' ticket once and then if I re-login, I get:

State
Already Connected

and below the statistics:

Sorry, can't connect
Click here to try another ticket.

What I am trying to do is setup a system with one ticket for anyone to use again and again until we feel the need to create a new login and password.

Confused!

Thanks

This is not a bug, it is a feature that most users need.
One ticket should in general not be used simultaneously.
It is also a technical constraint for limited tickets, and for statistics collection.

Couldn't you offer a different ticket for each user?
This way you can have statistics per users.
You can also know who were connected at what time.

This doesn't really suit our business model - the hotspot is going to be free to use and we just want simple access control to ensure people read the Acceptable Use Policy and need a common login/password to prevent wardriving but that can be changed every so often.

I'm new to hotspot setup so maybe we don't need anything as 'complex' as Worldspot then?

Thanks for the quick and positive reply - much appreciated.

I think the other issue that was confusing me was the 'Sorry, can't connect' message instead of seeing the 'connect' button when in fact I was already (re)connected - if I am right on this would it be possible to replace this message with the connect button (even though it's not really necessary it would be consistent) or replace the message with 'you are already connected'?

Not being a programmer I can't help much with the development side but I am happy to 'give back' to the project by testing and feedback

Thanks
