Pricing
« on: September 21, 2010, 04:06:09 pm »
I have a main account with sub-accounts.  If I purchase credits for the main account will the sub-accounts use the same credits or do I need to purchase credits for each sub-account?

Today, credits are not shared. But they could be if you want.

This has been uploaded please test.

New sub accounts features:
- share tickets and access profiles with parent ("access parent tickets")
- disable change account settings
- share credits with parents

Best regards

Actually this is not working completly.  I have 5 sub accounts and only 2 work.  I keep getting connection failed.  Hotspot needs credits or subscription.  I have verified the settings.

Can you please give me the hotspot name, and the name of the account in which you made the subscription?
I'll have a look.

Thanks

This should be fixed. It seems that you created the subaccounts when the parent credit sharing wasn't updated yet.

Note that the way you configured subaccounts might not be very easy to manage.
It seems that you created subaccounts, then created hotspots into them, then you disabled the subaccount ability to manage the hotspot.

It might be better if you leave hotspot management rights to the subaccount, then create another sub(sub)account that have limited rights.
Note that this should work, but hasn't been tested yet... ;-)

I'm a little confused on what you are saying.  I thought the sub account was the hotspot.  Here is my scenario.  I have 4 locations that need to handout tickets to our customers.  1 person at each location is allowed to create and print tickets only. I, the IT Admin, need to be able to manage the 4 hotspots.  Once the hotspots are configured I shouldn't need to do anything but delete stale tickets, troubleshoot issues, and buy credits.  If there is a better way then I am all ears.  Thank.  By the way the modifications you made worked.  Thanks.

An account can have several hotspots.

Maybe you need to create the hotspots under your main account, and share them with the subaccounts.
The possible problem you will have with this is that if you share tickets with subaccounts, all subaccounts will "see" tickets of other's (all will share the same tickets)
If sharing tickets is not a problem, this is a good solution.

The problem I see with your setup, is that because you disabled subaccount hotspot management features, and as the hotspot are owned by your subaccounts, you won't be able to manage them. You will have to reenable the hotspot management features, then disable them again.

A solution for this might be to create 2 level of subaccounts: they won't have the same tickets.

You haven't enabled "share parent credits"
