I am newbie to this software, but cannot find an answer to my issue with newly deployed free hotspot. Everything works as expected (I am using dd-wrt), but when I try to get connected through iPad being previously connected via PC, I get redirected to the login page, but login says "Cannot login" and status displays "already connected". However, I am not connected. If I try to refresh page, I get redirected to the same login page. Other users work fine. Is there a limitation for single user to have more than one wi-fi connection?

If you are using a ticket, yes, you can't connect simultaneously with the same ticket with 2 different computers.


You probably forgot to disconnect with your first computer before logging in with the second one.


On ddwrt, if you have setup the domain correctly, you should be able to go back to hotspot page by typing exit at the browser, then disconnect.
If you don't disconnect, the connection will be automatically closed after 10 minutes.

Well, I explicitly said I don't need tickets when created hotspot. My installation is truly simplistic - I do not want to restrict my guests in any way, but I don't want strangers or random persons from the street nearby to steal bandwidth of my connection. Can I do that *without* tickets? The idea is to connect from multiple devices simultaneously, e.g. you make a project on your noteboook and have side research or music running through iPad2 or iPhone (or even talk via Skype on iPhone - I can imagine multiple possibilities to use more than one device for the same account) Is it possible at all with Worldspot?

To restrict access to your hotspot, you need tickets.


For the simultaneous access not allowed, it is a feature to prevent abusing the hotspot usage.
