mac address in referrer (first please)
« on: May 27, 2007, 07:39:38 pm »
could you please change the order so that the MAC address  is not truncated in our logs?

before:

secure.worldspot.net/wk/Uam?res=notyet&uamip=192.168.182.1&uamport=3990&challenge=7814e03e24dc434e8376ac8083bff0e4&userurl=&nasid=xxx&mac=00-1

after:

secure.worldspot.net/wk/Uam?res=notyet&mac=00-12-F3-EE-02-00-2E&uamip=192.168.182.1&uamport=3990&challenge=7814e03e24dc434e8376ac8083bff0e4&u

muchas gracias!

This url is not generated by worldspot but by chillispot.
If your mac address is truncated, then you have a problem with your chillispot...

Note: mac addresses are now shown in hotspot history.

oh!  Many thanks for the quick answer!

However, only MAC addresses that log in are recorded.
I need MACs of users that just visit the "front page".

Using dd-wrt (Buffalo router)... is it difficult to change the order of elements in the URL?

I use a public SSL-counter service  (SSL to avoid browser msgs about safe and unsafe content)

Any other ideas?

Muchas gracias!!

Doesn't your public ssl service measure unique visitors based on cookies?
