Display session history broken into smaller time periods
« on: May 08, 2008, 08:56:39 am »
Hi,

I have not yet implemented a hotspot, but looking for viable options. I looked at "Display session history" and I can gather that the history is broken down by users and sessions. Would it be possible to break sessions into smaller time periods, for the purpose of determining what was downloaded when? e.g. assume someone was connected for 48hrs in one session, so break that down at best into hour periods?

If this has been implemented, I appologise, as I don't have any test data yet.

Sorry this is not how accounting information is stored into the database.
This would make too much information to store...

Could this be implemented as some kind of an auto logout/re-login every hour ?
This would show usage by the hour ?  I can see how this would be useful.

Perhaps you could create MAC based tickets that expire hourly, and allow multiple usage.
The cost might be prohibitive (3.12 vs .40) but you could do it if you had to.

Perhaps some added functionality around max renewal times on multiple usage profiles ?

No this is not needed.
Chillispot already send accounting information every period that I can choose.
So the information exists, is not stored in a hourly basis.
