Scheduled Reboot
« on: June 11, 2013, 08:15:27 pm »
Hello All, I am currently running the custom worldspot firmware trunk-31059-4 on my linksys WRT54GL When the hotspot has sat idle for an undetermined ammount of time it becomes non responsive ie: the landing page is not available to clients and admin is unable to authenticate through worldspot dashboard. A physical reboot solves the situation every time but is very inconvenient.

I am not sure why this happens as everything works perfectly for days afterwards can I somehow script an automated reboot say every night at x time as a workaround till the problem can be properly resolved? If so can someone assist me with the creation and execution of said script?

Thanks in advance
Cliff

Hi

I'm suspecting a hardware problem.

If nothing responds (no hotspot, no dashboard, no ping?), it is probable that the reboot script won't work.
There is even a watchdog that is supposed to reboot the router by itself.

You may consider investing in a cheap tp-link wr741nd.
