Is the wifi "mesh" is working only with full version ?
« on: November 03, 2016, 07:23:13 am »
hi,
Is the wifi "mesh" is working only with full version ?
I have try to setup mesh wifi between WA901ND Ver3 and WR741N V4
The both router  are flashed with beta std version.
http://dl.worldspot.net/wsbeta/14.07-20160229-1/ar71xx-std/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr741nd-v4-squashfs-factory.bin
http://dl.worldspot.net/wsbeta/14.07-20160229-1/ar71xx-std/openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wa901nd-v3-squashfs-factory.bin
When i run "batctl o" i have the following error:
Error - interface bat0 is not present or not a batman-adv interface
I can't find any full verion for the WA 901ND ver3 and WR741N V4
Which version will work for this two model ?
How can i setup batman mesh via SSL console?
Thanks

Hello

Yes mesh should be working. I just noticed that I forgot to document how to enable it.
You should simply type the following command:
wsMeshEnable

To disable:
wsMeshDisable

This should work the same on both std and full firmwares.
Make sure your wifi radios are on the same channel.
Will update docs ASAP

Super cool merci !!!!
Ca marche du feu de dieu :) ;) :D

Thanks a lot, it work perfectly...
I don't have to do anything to save the config,  right ????
It's going to work at each reboot?

Thanks again...

Glad it works.
I updated the documentation on this forum.
Yes configuration is kept at reboot.

One more question about the "Mesh" network.
Since i have successfully set it up, i have a new ssid broadcasted on my wifi with the name "My mesh".
Is it possible to have this SSID invisible ?
It's not a big problem, it's just to avoid question like "what is this AP "My mesh"? from my users :) :)

it should be invisible.
In the dash board, (or ssh), use 'uci show wireless' to configure the ssid.
hidden should have been set to 1, if not, it is a bug...
Some systems like linux seem to show hidden ssid.

hi,
as you can see bellow hidden as been set to 1 for the mesh network
but i can still see it on wireless network list on windows7, window10 but not on android.
i didn't check on linux because my linux computer is cable wired to the lan :)
